I was lucky to be invited to enjoy a short mini cruise on one of Celebrity Cruises newest most innovative ships on her first visit to the UK.
The ship combines absolute luxury with cutting edge technology for the ultimate cruising experience.
With over 90% of cabins having views of the sea, I was accommodated in a Concierge cabin with a unique infinite Balcony and at just over 200 square foot it had every amenity you could wish for including a very spacious bathroom area.
During my time on the ship I was able to visit every category of cabin down from the stunning Iconic Suite through to one of the few Interior Staterooms all of which had been thoughtfully designed by a team of well known interior designers including Kelly Hoppen.
As well as the extra space of being in a suite guests can enjoy their own exclusive secluded areas including the Retreat Lounge and Sundeck with its pool, pool bar and private Cabanas. Suite guests also can enjoy private dining in their own restaurant Luminae at the Retreat as well the numerous main and speciality restaurants the ship has to offer.
When it comes to food, guests are spoilt for choice, the main restaurants being Tuscan, Cyprus, Normandie and Cosmopolitan Restaurants where the main menu is the same with a few specialities reflecting the restaurants theme. For a special evening there are 7 speciality restaurants ranging from the Fine Cut Steakhouse through to the unique Magic Carpet which hangs over the side of the ship.
Spa facilities are absolutely superb with one of the largest range of treatment rooms afloat including Rainfall water therapy room and a Salt room as well as the usual steam and sauna rooms. Access to the Spa is free to guests in Aqua Class although other guests can pay by the day for admission.
Although the ship was not full when I was on, it has plenty of deck space including the Resort Deck with the main pool area as well as the Adult Only Solarium with its covered pool. If you want to get away and relax there is always the Rooftop Garden which turns into an entertainment venue at night.
All in all Celebrity Edge is an exceptional ship which offers passengers both luxury and unique cutting ‘Edge’ experience.
